Food Manager is a shopping list app. This page explains what data it collects and why.
Your shopping list, categories, and settings are stored only on your device unless you take one of the actions below. No account is required to use the app, and no data is sent anywhere for its core functionality — including the on-device AI categorization, which runs entirely on your phone.
Sharing a list generates a one-time join code. Once a list is shared, its contents (items, categories, and strike-through/completion state) are stored on our server so it can be synchronized between the people you've shared it with. Only people you've explicitly shared the code with can access that list.
Unless you turn it off, the app collects anonymous usage and diagnostic data to help us fix problems and improve the app:
Neither includes your shopping list contents, email or name, and neither is used for advertising. You can turn both off at any time in Settings → Food Manager (“Share anonymous usage data”). Error reports are kept for about 30 days.
Linking Alexa requires signing in with your Google account. We receive your email address and name from Google to identify your account and associate it with the shopping list you designate for voice control. This is only collected if you choose to use the Alexa integration, and you can disconnect Alexa at any time from the app's Settings page, which removes the link.
We don't show ads, sell your data, or share it with third parties beyond what's needed to operate the features above (e.g. Google, for sign-in and Firebase Analytics, and Amazon, for the Alexa skill you've chosen to link).
You can delete your account yourself in the app: Settings → Food Manager → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, your Alexa link and any shared lists you own from our servers; lists stored on your device stay on your device. You can also disconnect Alexa on its own at any time from Settings. To request deletion of any other data associated with your account, contact us using the details below.
Food Manager is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
